ICAADA Credentialing Intern
I completed my capstone internship during the 2026 spring semester with Mental Health America of Indiana, a non-profit behavioral health organization in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. I served as a credentialing intern in the ICAADA department. ICAADA is an an abbreviation for Indiana Credentialing Association on Addiction and Drug Abuse. ICAADA provides educational resources and multiple certifications for individuals wanting to provide prevention, treatment, recovery, or supervision care within the behavioral health industry.
Primary Responsibilities and Projects

Performed data collection and entry utilizing Microsoft application Excel in order to support administrative evaluation and reporting.

Content creation and social media marketing for promotional materials to encourage community engagement utilizing digital creation platform, Canva.

Attended monthly accreditation meetings via Microsoft Teams, summarizing projects and events from previous month, and revealing anticipated organization developments, projects, and events for upcoming months.

Assisted with website development support, including corrections, updates, and content management.

Utilized organization tools and platforms to assist with reporting and documentation.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes
During my internship experience with ICAADA, my learning objectives included:
1. Growing comfortable with independently completing tasks/projects individually.
Outcome: I feel this learning objective was fulfilled. I was given many opportunities to work independently after being given instruction on completing certain tasks.
2. Gain valuable marketing creation experience and see my efforts be utilized.
Outcome: I became Canva certified and learned how to better utilize the platform. My efforts were also recognized by the organization, as they did post one of the graphics I assisted with on the organization's main social media platform.
3. Accurately collect and analyze data collected by the organization and articulate my findings to my supervisor.
Outcome: I collected missing data for certain candidates and reported my findings to my supervisor. I also participated in a website scavenger hunt that allowed me to better navigate the company's website, and presented these findings to my supervisor.
